It is what it is.
In portraiture, the photographer is granted a unique vantage point into the lives of those in front of the camera. When the shutter releases, that person is exposed. In that fraction of a second, all their hopes, wishes & desires, stand still forever documented.
Through communication & a flexible working environment, my subjects & I take to the outdoors, the studio, or wherever we are inspired to shoot. During these sessions, while maintaining control over the technical aspects of the camera, I encourage the subject to "let go" & "be free" with little interruption from the photographer; thereby, allowing them to naturally express who they are through movement & personal expression.
This style of photography creates a partnership between the individual and myself--capitalizing on their desire to be photographed & my desire to produce the most accurate portrayal of them in that moment.
